I've been working more on my maya model, as well as the storyboard and finding a band to work with.
I've been in contact with Carl Greene, who is in the band Royale, as well as the School of Art and Design's visual designer. He is interested in working together to make the final product for my Senior Design. Royale is currently in the process of recording new songs, and we will be in touch to see which work.
My Maya model is progressing, it now has limbs and 'one' hand. I am beginning to realize how much tweaking and re-doing this particular process in Maya takes, and I am enjoying it. I've been in contact with Nick Watts for questions I have during.
As far as storyboard, I've gotten down some basic plot points of the story, here in this picture:

Nobrow and progress
Here are more really great things that I like. I've been busy stalking Nobrow for about a year now, and here are some fancy pieces by Nobrow Small Press (their more hands-on, screen printing division) and some illustrators.
A lot going on, but I like the substitution of hot pink for red/magenta. Something I'm thinking about to make my screen prints resemble the overlays I've seen in riso
Great great color
The Hand by Luke Best (one of my tutors from Camberwell)
I really like this because printing in only two colors calms the composition down a lot. Good to keep in mind when I start planning how many colors I want to use in each publication.
And many, many more. I can't stop looking at it.
Here's the days-worth of what I've been doing for IP:
Today has been an awful day filled with math, calculating how much paper I need and how big and how many spreads I can fit per sheet, not to forget the $$$ part. Then there's the lovely planning for how I cut my paper (to maximize the # of spreads) and how that has to correlate with the size of my screen, and how I plan to lay out images when exposing (maximizing potential for printing multiple spreads in the same color at once). Its pretty much been terrible, especially when I discovered I ordered screens that would be too small, and not the right type of 'screen' for paper printing. I've also been looking into exhibition options, which is just way too fun to even describe. It all makes the art-making part way more awesome sounding, and I can't wait to get down to the drawing.

Oct 9th Update- Teresa
I have been focusing on practicing models and fleshing out my characters a bit more. After a bit of deliberation, I decided on the names Damon (means loyal, one who tames) and Reza (Reaper). Both names are fitting to each characters role in the story.
I have decided on keeping human characters, to teach myself how and animate and form such shapes. The big dilemma is how stylized or how realistic I want them to be. I will know after I practice some.

Adventure Time Original Pilot
This is the original pilot for the current Cartoon Network show, Adventure Time. It shows the sort of product I'm trying to create, and is also a similar kind of absurd humor.

Sam's 5
So just workin on narrowing down to a theme and all that great stuff. Here's my obsessive organization and 5 ok ideas.
Thinkin about doing a theme of scientists/ naturalists/ explorers etc.
Gregor Mendel's childhood
Another theme idea, how to zines. would involve talking to specialists.
Yes, noodling specialists.
Pop up shop potential. No, it probably won't be called 'SHOP'

Five of the Fifty ideas from The Island of Misfit Toys
2. The decision to create a music video. Which music to use is still up in the air. The song I was looking at using is Besitos by Pierce the Veil.
3. The rough sketch of my Boy character. Still unrefined, needs to be worked on, but his personality is there. Innocent, hard-working, farmboy, etc.
4. Selection of my color palette. Contains skintones, environment tones, colors designated for certain characters. Need to pare it down a bit.
5. Rough Sketch of the Girl Character. Like the boy sketch, need to be refined, but contains aspects of the personality. Quiet, kind, conservative, etc.
Thats all for now
