Monica Ross - Update 2/5

I am still scanning and editing my papers from this week, so nothing to show yet outside of this small bit.
Sherri is going to be voice acting for one of my leads. Still waiting to hear from Jan, we'll see.

I was in the studio from 8:30am - 4:00 pm on Tuesday and Thursday this week. As well as Monday from 11pm - 6am, and for a couple of hours this weekend after work. All together = 24 hours this week in the studio.

Next Sunday I'll post everything I scan tonight and tomorrow after I condense it all into video.

Update

For the critique, I've been able to get some sample video sequences done.  Thanks to getting the render garden functioning with Modo, some of the renders take 5 minutes, as opposed to 5 hours.

These videos include the first scene parts, which then go right into the loops.

Making the music is proving to be quite fun.  Everything is really in place as a technical framework, so now it's just on to pure content creation, which is a blast.

Progress Update - Monica Ross

I am testing out color for scenes!
There are two major differences between this image and the images in my animation. The linework will be more prevalent and the backgrounds will be traditionally colored.
But I think it will look good.

I'm also breaking down individual movements. Trying to work out all of the technical difficulties early on, so make things easier later.

Here is my first page of story boarding. As of today, I am completely finished with the rough story board. Tomorrow, I'm going to make a rough animatic. Then it's back to the drawing board for revisions.

Five of the Fifty ideas from The Island of Misfit Toys

1. This is the design I have chosen for the monster of my story. The body was influenced by many different sources, from rodents to Philippine folklore.

2. The decision to create a music video. Which music to use is still up in the air. The song I was looking at using is Besitos by Pierce the Veil.

3. The rough sketch of my Boy character. Still unrefined, needs to be worked on, but his personality is there. Innocent, hard-working, farmboy, etc.

4. Selection of my color palette. Contains skintones, environment tones, colors designated for certain characters. Need to pare it down a bit.

5. Rough Sketch of the Girl Character. Like the boy sketch, need to be refined, but contains aspects of the personality. Quiet, kind, conservative, etc.

Thats all for now
