Studio Progress 1/15

So this week I've been moving ahead with quilt #2. I finalized the design, and bought my fabric over the weekend. Here's the design, but not in the colors I'm going to use.

I decided to go with blues instead of greens for this one. I also chose to buy white fabric and dye it myself in order to get a precise gradient of colors. I did so over the weekend, but one of my fabrics didn't come out the right color, so it looks like I'll be making another trip to Joann's for more fabric.

In the meantime, I've made a mock-up square for the quilt just so I could ensure the best way to construct each quilt square. I also made a pattern for each color in the square, so I can be sure that all the squares will look the same. I've begun cutting the fabrics that I am going to use, and on Friday I'll be getting more fabric from Joann's to replace the one that I dyed incorrectly.

Hours:
Wednesday, 3 hrs (finalized design and colors)
Thursday, 4 hrs (mock-up, pattern pieces)
Saturday, 2 hrs (dyed fabric)
Sunday, 2 hrs (dyed fabric)
