Project Update

My project is coming along technically and I'm focusing on getting 2-3 slides with transitions and a concrete style for the viewer to see.  Furthermore, I'm trying to get the entire text --> Flash data to display as well.

Things I'm learning:

• Got in touch with Steffen Heise about using the Render Garden, so rendering should go almost 10x as fast for major scenes.
• After trying to get lighting proper in my scenes, I'm figuring out what I can layer in AfterEffects instead of doing the entire thing modeled in 3D.
• Flash sucks but I have to work with it.  Kind of like how republicans have to work with democrats.

Sound

I'm quickly finding that GarageBand loops, royalty free sounds, and royalty free sound effects will be all I need for this project.  The point is to produce ambient sounds and an atmosphere, with simple, mild, and generic music meant to complement a storybook.  Therefore, the music will not really line up beat for beat with the animation, but just provide more background setting.
