This week I've been experimenting with other pattern ideas that are related to my first one. I've come up with a number of variations.
I also began creating my design in fabric as a mock-up. I found that my value scales are going to have to be very precise in order for this design to work in fabric. In addition to this, I need to come up with a better way to make each block. In my computer design all the blocks are exactly the same, and I think that's why the pattern worked so well. It's a little trickier to make every block perfect in fabric, since I'm working with such uneven diagonal lines. Here's a few of the blocks so far.
