5 Ideas- Elyse Shapiro

Drawing for pre-folded mold. Used to permanently alter shape of polyester/ other synthetic materials when heat from steam or press is applied. I plan to print onto fabric first for the outer most layer of my light fixtures, and then alter the permanent shape of it to add texture and depth.
This is an idea to plan the visual imagery of the inside of the orbs. Using a program called "Scantimation" that alters images to make them appear as if they are moving when vertical lines are pulled across it. For example, using imagery I can make it appear as if a person is walking/ an object is rotating, etc.
This is an example of how I can try to use small, detailed patterns to create larger, more graphic imagery. I have done this exercise using several small designs.

This sketch represents how I plan to construct my lighting fixtures with their material and pattern construction.
This is another example of a small detailed pattern that I am planning to place on the outer most layer of my orbs.
